Recently, Chinese garlic exports have continued to grow

[Abstract]:

After entering the middle and late July period, the garlic market trading scene was sluggish. Merchants who purchase and store in the industry are not very motivated, and the transaction price of garlic at the warehouse is constantly falling.

According to international garlic data, in June 2022, China's total garlic exports were 190,600 tons, with a total export value of $190,768,300. Among them, the quantity of fresh or refrigerated garlic in total was about 166,500 tons, an increase of about 6.53% compared with the export volume of 156,300 tons in the same period last year. The total export value was US$132.7615 million, a year-on-year decrease of about 17.49% compared with the export value of US$160.9097 million in the same period last year.

Overall, from the data comparison of the past five years from 2018 to 2022, it is found that the export volume of fresh or refrigerated garlic in China in June 2022 ranks in the middle position. 2022 is the third year since the outbreak, and the international purchasing power is slightly down. The total export volume of garlic in the first and second quarters of 2022 is about 843,400 tons, accounting for 46% of the total export volume in 2021.

In general, under the influence of factors such as the intensification of international conflicts and the pandemic, global commodity prices have risen, and the international inflation rate has increased, which in turn has led to a decline in international purchasing power. Exports of garlic in recent months have not increased as much as expected.
